This is it, our first travel day! Left the marina in Kent Narrows about 8:15am to catch the 8:30am Kent Narrows bridge opening. Cool morning 58 degrees to start but ended in the low 70’s.
Kevin (our dock neighbor in Kent Narrows) took a couple of pictures as we pulled out of Mear’s for the last time. We caught the last Kent Narrows Bridge opening (for us) for the season and headed south.

It wasn’t the most pleasant ride down the bay, we wound up hitting two to three foot waves down the bay on our way to Solomon’s Island.

Solomon’s Island is a beautiful little slice of eastern shore atmosphere on the western shore. We traveled for about 5 hours and pulled up at Zahniser’s Marina. According to our travel Boat Buddy, Robert on “Stacey Lynn” (who hails from Texas) , we all won silver Belt Buckle awards for riding the waves for 5 hours.

After we tied up, it was time for a decompressing happy hour drink and then dinner. We walked to ‘The Pier’ restaurant and had a great meal, watching the sunset.

Tomorrow’s another day as we get ready to head for Deltaville, VA. Doesn’t look like good weather, but we’re willing to give it a go. Stay tuned, I think we’re getting wet tomorrow.
Looks like a great first day. I like the map of your route you provided.
